At SSS, we are committed to fostering an environment where individuals feel safe to raise concerns about unethical, illegal, or inappropriate behaviour without fear of retaliation. Our whistleblowing policy encourages transparency and accountability within our organisation.
1. Our Commitment:
We take all concerns seriously and will investigate any reports made by whistleblower's in a confidential and sensitive manner. We are dedicated to promoting a culture of openness and protecting the rights of those who raise concerns.
2. Definition of Whistleblowing:
Whistleblowing refers to the act of reporting suspected misconduct, illegal activities, or violations of policies within the organisation. This encompasses a range of issues, including fraud, corruption, health and safety risks, and safeguarding concerns.
3. Reporting Concerns:
If you have concerns about unethical practices or wrongdoing, we encourage you to report them promptly. You can report your concerns to your line manager, or, if you prefer, directly to the designated Whistleblowing Officer who is Marie Crombie, the SSS Chief Executive Officer. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and discretion.
4. Protection for Whistleblower's:
SSS is committed to ensuring that whistleblower's are protected from any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of raising concerns in good faith. We will not tolerate any acts of reprisal against individuals who report issues honestly and transparently.
5. Training and Awareness:
We provide training to our staff and volunteers on the importance of whistleblowing and how to report concerns effectively. Our goal is to ensure that everyone understands their role in maintaining ethical standards and feels empowered to speak up.
6. Legal Compliance:
We are fully committed to complying with all relevant whistleblowing laws and regulations. Our policies are designed to reflect best practices and ensure that we uphold our legal and ethical obligations.
For more detailed information about our whistleblowing policies and procedures, please request our full Whistleblowing Policy. You can contact Marie Crombie at marie.crombie@ss-scot.org .
Thank you for helping SSS maintain a culture of integrity and accountability.
